How to Use and Customize the Engagement Bar

The Engagement Bar adds quick-access actions so readers can contact you, visit your site, or share your story.

1. Turn On the Engagement Bar

  1. In the editor, click the Settings (gear) icon on the right-hand toolbar.

  2. In Story settings, find the Engagement bar section.

  3. Toggle Engagement bar on.


2. Customize the Engagement Bar

  1. Click Customize under the Engagement Bar section.

  2. In the Engagement Bar Creator, you can:

    • Choose a preset from the dropdown (e.g., Content marketing, Sales).

    • Toggle elements on or off:

      • Sender information

      • Company’s logo

      • Call to action #1 (e.g., “Book a call” with a link or calendar integration)

      • Call to action #2 (e.g., “Visit our website”)

      • Send (pre-filled share message)

      • Share buttons (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)

  3. For each button or link:

    • Edit the label text.

    • Add the target URL.

    • Choose whether to open in a popup or new tab.

    • For calls or meetings, toggle Use calendar link to connect to your profile.

  4. Use the Desktop/Mobile toggle to preview how your Engagement Bar will appear.


3. Add or Change Your Company Logo

  1. In the Engagement Bar Creator, go to the Company’s logo section.

  2. Click the account customization link to open the Account customization window.

  3. Under Your logo, click the + button (or Change logo if replacing an existing one).

  4. Select your logo file (JPG, PNG, SVG, or GIF).

  5. Click Save changes.


4. Save and Preview

  1. In the Engagement Bar Creator, click Save changes.

  2. Open your story in Preview mode to see the Engagement Bar live at the top of your presentation.


Tips:

  • Use short, action-oriented button labels (e.g., “Let’s talk,” “Get a quote”).

  • Transparent PNG logos work best for a clean appearance.

  • On the Pro plan or higher, you can remove Storydoc branding from the Engagement Bar.
