How Offline Presentation Works

As long as you open your Storydoc in your browser while you’re still connected to the internet, your content will be cached. You can then present without an active internet connection.

Steps to Prepare for Offline Mode

  1. Connect to the internet and open your Storydoc in your browser.

  2. Go through all slides to ensure each element loads completely.

  3. Stay on the browser tab with your Storydoc open until you’re ready to present.

Important Limitations Offline

  • Features that rely on live connections, such as embedded videos (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) and attachments, will not work without internet access.

  • Interactive elements that depend on online data may be unavailable.

  • Analytics tracking will not register offline views until the device reconnects to the internet.

Best Practices

  • If you need embedded videos, consider uploading them directly to Storydoc (MP4 format) for better offline compatibility.

  • Test your deck offline before your presentation to check what works as expected.

  • If your presentation venue has unreliable internet, prepare a PDF export as a backup (available on all paid plans).
