A custom subdomain lets you share your Storydoc presentations under your own branded link, making them more professional, memorable, and aligned with your brand identity. Depending on your plan, you can choose a branded subdomain (e.g., yourcompany.storydoc.com) or a whitelabel subdomain (e.g., view.yourcompany.com).

Plan Requirements

The availability and format of your custom subdomain depend on your Storydoc plan.
Please check the pricing page for the most up-to-date details.

Steps to Set Up Your Custom Subdomain

  1. Check your plan
Make sure your plan includes the subdomain feature you want. See the pricing page for details.

  2. Choose your subdomain format

    • Branded: yourcompany.storydoc.com

    • Whitelabel: view.yourcompany.com or docs.yourcompany.com

  3. Send your request to Storydoc support
Include your preferred subdomain format so we can begin the setup process.

  4. Set up your DNS (for whitelabel domains)
Your team needs to create a CNAME record in your DNS. This record should match your chosen domain, such as docs.company.com or links.company.com.

    • Point the CNAME record to cname.short.io

    • This can be set in your domain management section with your hosting provider or DNS service.

  5. Confirmation and activation
Once set up, all new stories you share will use your custom subdomain.
Note: Existing stories will not update automatically. To apply the new subdomain, duplicate the story or create a new version and share it.
