A menu helps readers navigate easily through your Storydoc and jump from slide to slide in a simple way. You can choose between different menu styles and customize which slides appear in the navigation.

How to Enable the Menu

Choose Your Menu Location

You have two options for where the menu appears:

  • Document header: The menu appears in the bottom-left corner as part of the progress bar.

  • Floating menu: A floating navigation that appears in the top-left corner starting from the second slide (it won't cover your first slide/cover page).

Select Which Slides to Include

Below the menu location options, you'll see a list of all your slides. Use the toggle switches next to each slide to control which ones appear in your menu.

Adding Anchors for More Precise Navigation

For even more precise navigation, you can create anchors that link to specific sections within a slide:

  1. Select any element on your slide (like a text block or section).

  2. In the element toolbar, click the Anchor button.

  3. Toggle Anchor to On and give it a descriptive name.

Once you've created anchors, they'll appear in your menu settings below the regular slides, allowing you to direct readers to specific sections rather than entire slides.

Managing Your Menu Items

You can easily customize which items appear in your menu:

  • Toggle slides on/off: Use the switches next to each slide or anchor to include or exclude them from the menu.

  • Include anchors: When you create anchors on your slides, they automatically become available as menu options, giving readers more granular navigation control.
