Learn how to add page numbers to your Storydoc. While Storydoc doesn’t include automatic slide numbering, you can add them manually, use the built-in reading bar, or view them in exported PDFs.

Storydoc presentations are designed to be scrollable, dynamic stories rather than traditional slide decks. Because of this continuous format, there isn’t a native page numbering option. However, you can use the following workaround to add numbers if you need them.

Steps to Add Page Numbers Manually

  1. Add a Text Element:
Open your story in the editor and select the slide where you want a page number. Use the + Add Element button to insert a text box at the bottom of the slide.

  2. Enter the Page Number:
Type in the number you’d like to display (e.g., "1" for the first slide, "2" for the second slide, and so on).

  3. Style and Align the Text:
Adjust the font size and alignment using the text formatting options in the editor so the number appears consistently on each slide.

Viewing Slide Numbers in the Reading Bar

In the view mode, you can see the current slide number at the bottom of the screen in the reading bar. This bar indicates which slide you’re on and the total number of slides, such as “Slide 3 of 8.”

Exporting to PDF

When you export your Storydoc presentation to PDF, the PDF viewer (like Adobe Acrobat) will automatically show page numbers as part of the reader interface. You’ll see the page numbers there without any additional steps.
