How to Connect Storydoc with Zapier

With just a few clicks, you can now connect Storydoc to over 3,000 apps - no code needed

Connect Storydoc to Zapier

  1. Open the Storydoc integrations page on Zapier:
    ​https://zapier.com/apps/storydoc/integrations

  2. Click Connect or Add Connection.

  3. When prompted, paste your Storydoc API key.
    You can find it in Workspace > Integrations>Connect CRM>Zapier in Storydoc.

  4. Once verified, your Storydoc account will be available inside Zapier.

Create an Automation (Zap)

Automations start with a trigger inside your external tool (CRM, ATS, email platform, spreadsheet, etc.). Once the trigger fires, Zapier uses Storydoc as the action to generate a personalized story.

1. Choose your trigger app

This depends on where your data lives. Examples:

  • CRM: Zoho CRM, Pipedrive, Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • Email automation: Outreach, Salesloft, Mailchimp, Drip, Klaviyo

  • ATS: Greenhouse, Ashby, Workable, BambooHR

  • Sales & proposal tools: Apollo, ZoomInfo, Gong

2. Select a trigger event

Common trigger examples:

  • New contact created

  • New deal added

  • New candidate added

  • New row in a spreadsheet

  • New outreach sequence step

3. Add Storydoc as the action

  1. Choose Storydoc as the action app.

  2. Select the action to Create a personalized Storydoc.

  3. Map fields from your trigger app to Storydoc variables:

    • First name

    • Company

    • Email

    • Any custom values used in your template

  4. Test the action to generate your first personalized link.

  5. Turn on the Zap to automate the workflow.

What Happens Next

Once your automation is active, Zapier will:

  • Create a new Storydoc version every time your trigger event happens.

  • Automatically insert the personalized variables into your template.

  • Return the unique Storydoc link to your CRM, ATS, outreach tool, Slack, email, or spreadsheet.

This allows your team to send fully personalized Storydocs without manual work.
