How to Attach a Document to Your Storydoc

You can attach PDFs, documents, or online files directly to any slide using Storydoc’s Embedded Tools. This lets your readers view or download supporting materials without leaving your story.

1. Open the slide and select the Embedded Tools panel

While editing your slide, look at the right-side toolbar and click Embedded Tools (the </> icon).

2. Choose the Attachment option

From the Embedded Tools menu, select Attachment.
This instantly places an attachment container on your slide. you can click or drag and drop it to the right location.

3. Choose what type of attachment to add

In the Attachment panel, choose between:

  • Link
    Paste any shareable document link (Google Docs, PDFs hosted online, etc.).

  • File
    Upload a PDF or document from your computer.

5. Pick a preview style

You can select how the attachment should appear:

  • Icon: Clean file icon

  • Document: Visual preview of the document

6. Resize and position the attachment

Drag the edges of the attachment container to adjust its size or layout.
The toolbar above lets you manage alignment, shape, radius, and anchors.

7. Preview your story

Click Preview to make sure the attachment looks and behaves as expected.
