Accessing Document Settings

Complete guide to configuring document settings including story details, menu, header, watermark, and AI features

Document settings in Storydoc allow you to customize every aspect of your document and functionality. Access these settings to control everything from basic story information to advanced features like AI knowledge and integrations.

Accessing Document Settings

To open document settings, click the Settings icon in the bottom right corner of your Storydoc editor sidebar. This opens a comprehensive settings panel with multiple sections.

Story Details

The Story details section contains your story's basic information and preferences. Here you can:

  • Edit your story name and add a description

  • Change the story language and access translation features

  • Upload a custom favicon for browser tabs

  • Toggle the "Remove Storydoc branding" option (available on certain plans)

Menu Configuration

The Menu section helps readers navigate your story by providing quick access to different slides and sections.

You can control which slides appear in the menu by toggling them on or off individually. Each slide in your story is listed with its title, and you can decide whether it should be accessible through the menu navigation.

Choose your menu location from two options:

  • Document header - Menu appears integrated within the header

  • Floating menu - Menu appears as a separate floating element

Document Header

The document header provides readers with sharing tools, navigation, and call-to-action buttons. You can fully customize its appearance and functionality.

Header Components

Configure these header elements:

  • Logo - Upload your brand logo to appear in the header

  • Sender information - Show recipients who sent the document

  • Send document - Enable readers to forward the story via email

  • Share document - Allow sharing via link or social media

Custom Buttons

Add and customize call-to-action buttons in your document header. You can drag and drop to reorder buttons and configure each one individually.

For each button, customize:

  • Link type - URL, Email, Phone, or Calendar

  • Button text - The displayed text

  • Icon - Visual icon for the button

  • Colors - Text and background colors

  • Popup behavior - Whether links open in a new window

Watermark Protection

Add a custom watermark to protect your story and mark it for internal use. Configure the watermark text, color, and opacity to suit your needs.

AI Storybrain Knowledge

Your centralized knowledge base guides the AI when creating new slides or updating existing content. This powerful feature helps maintain consistency and accuracy across your stories.

Setting Up AI Knowledge

Configure your AI knowledge base with:

  • Brand details - Your company name, website, and description

  • Brand tone - Describe how your brand should communicate

  • Document prompt - Specific instructions for this story

  • Language settings - Set the AI's working language

Knowledge Management

Add knowledge files and links to enhance AI accuracy. You can also import knowledge from other documents or use the rewrite feature to refresh your entire story based on updated knowledge.

Integrations

Access your connected tools and services through the integrations section. This includes:

  • CRM integrations - Connect with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, and other CRMs

  • Tracking tools - Set up analytics and tracking

  • No-code automations - Connect with Zapier, Make, and other automation platforms

Each integration category provides specific connection options and setup instructions. Click Connect next to any service to begin the integration process.
