Adding a Media Grid to Your Slide

Learn how to add, customize, and manage media grids in your Storydoc presentations.

Media grids are an excellent way to display multiple images, videos, or color blocks together in an organized, visually appealing layout. This feature allows you to create dynamic visual displays that showcase different media assets side by side.

Adding a Media Grid to Your Slide

To add a media grid element to your slide, hover over the right section of the screen in the Storydoc editor. You'll see the option to Add a media grid appear in the sidebar.

Click on Add a media grid to open the grid type selection panel. You'll see several layout options to choose from:

  • Square - Traditional grid layout with square cells

  • Circle - Grid with circular image frames

  • Honeycomb - Hexagonal honeycomb pattern

  • Masonry - Pinterest-style masonry layout

  • Vertical - Stacked vertical arrangement

  • Horizontal - Side-by-side horizontal layout

Select the layout style you prefer, and it will be automatically added to your slide.

Managing Elements Within the Grid

Once your media grid is created, you can manage individual elements within it. Click Edit content to enter the grid editing mode.

Removing Elements from the Grid

To delete an element from your media grid:

  1. Select the element you want to remove by clicking on it

  2. Click the three dots menu that appears

  3. Select Delete from the menu options

Duplicating Elements

To duplicate an existing element in your grid:

  1. Click on the element you want to duplicate

  2. Click the three dots menu

  3. Select Duplicate from the menu options

Adding New Media to the Grid

To add new media assets to your grid, click the + Add element button. This will open a dropdown menu with media type options:

  • Image - Add photos or graphics

  • Video - Add video files

  • Color - Add solid color blocks

After selecting your media type, choose Use media to browse and select your files. Click Save to add the media to your grid.

Reordering Grid Elements

You can easily change the order in which media appears in your grid:

  1. In the grid editing mode, click and drag any media element

  2. Move it to your desired position within the grid

  3. Release to drop it in the new location

  4. Click Save to apply your changes

The changes will be immediately reflected in your presentation. Your media grid will now display the elements in their new arrangement.

Viewing Your Completed Grid

Once you've finished editing your media grid, it will appear on your slide as a cohesive visual element. The grid automatically adjusts to fit your chosen layout style and maintains proper spacing between elements.
