Adding Digital Approval to Your Story (e-signature)

Learn how to add a digital approval (e-signature) to your documents.

Storydoc's digital approval feature allows you to add signature functionality directly to your stories, enabling prospects to approve proposals, sign contracts, or accept terms and conditions without leaving the presentation.

Adding Digital Approval to Your Story

To add a digital approval section to your story:

  1. Navigate to the slide where you want to add the signature functionality

  2. Hover over the right side of the screen to reveal the interactive elements panel

  3. Look for the digital approval button option

  4. Click to add the digital approval section to your slide

Once added, the digital approval element will appear as a button on your slide that prospects can interact with when viewing the personalized version.

Creating and Sharing Personalized Versions

After adding the digital approval element, you need to create a personalized version for your prospect:

  1. Click the Share button or generate a new version

  2. Storydoc will process the version creation, including preparing PDF files

  3. Share the personalized version link with your prospect

How Prospects Sign Your Proposal

When your prospect opens the personalized version and reaches the signature slide, they will see an interactive approval button. Here's what happens:

  1. The prospect clicks the signature button on the slide

  2. A signature form modal appears with fields for their information

  3. They fill in their name, email address, and role (optional)

  4. They click Accept to approve the proposal

Signature Confirmation and Records

Once the prospect submits their digital signature:

  • They receive immediate confirmation that their approval has been recorded

  • The signature includes their full name, contact information, and timestamp

  • All approval details are automatically saved and timestamped

  • Both parties receive the signed PDF of the proposal

Tracking Approval Status

You can monitor the status of your digital approvals in your Storydoc dashboard:

  1. Navigate to your Stories section

  2. Look for the version that contains the digital approval

  3. The status column will show Accepted when signed

  4. Click on the version to view detailed approval information
