Storydoc allows you to export your interactive presentations as PDF files, making it easy to share your content in a static format when needed. While PDFs don't support interactive elements, they're perfect for offline viewing, printing, or sharing with stakeholders who prefer traditional document formats.
How to Export Your Story as PDF
To download your story as a PDF, navigate to the story you want to export and follow these steps:
Open the story you want to export in the editor
Click the Share button in the top right corner of your story editor
Select the Export to PDF tab in the sharing modal
You'll see an information notice reminding you that interactive content and videos won't work in a static PDF. To use all of Storydoc's features, you can always use the share option instead.
PDF Export Options
The PDF export feature offers several customization options to fit your needs:
Layout Options
Choose from three layout formats:
Multi slide - Each slide appears separately, similar to a traditional presentation
One page - All content is formatted as a single continuous page
A4/Letter - Optimized for standard paper sizes
Select Slides
Use the Select slides dropdown to choose which slides to include in your PDF. You can select all slides or pick specific ones for your export.
Quality and Display Options
Customize your PDF with these additional settings:
High quality PDF - Enhances image quality but results in a larger file size
Optimized for screen viewing - Applies a minimum slide ratio of 16:9 for widescreen layout
Remove the QR code - Excludes the tracking QR code from the last page
Downloading Your PDF
Once you've configured your settings, click the Download PDF button to start the export process.
Storydoc will prepare your PDF and show a progress indicator. The download will start automatically once the file is ready.
You'll see the progress bar fill up as your PDF is being generated. When it reaches 100% the download will begin automatically.
The PDF will be saved to your browser's default download location.
Best Practices for PDF Export
Use the High quality PDF option for presentations that will be printed or viewed at high resolution
Choose Multi slide layout for presentations that need to maintain slide-by-slide structure
Select One page layout for documents that work better as continuous content
Remove the QR code if you're sharing the PDF externally and don't need tracking
Remember that interactive elements, videos, and animations will not function in the PDF version. For the full interactive experience, share your live Storydoc link instead.
Please note that PDF export is not included in the 14-day free trial. To use this feature, you'll need to subscribe to one of our paid plans.
