How to Use Spacers and Dividers in Storydoc

Learn how to add spacers and dividers to create professional spacing and visual breaks in your Storydoc presentations.

Written by Jack

Spacers and dividers are powerful design elements that help create professional, polished presentations in Storydoc. These elements allow you to control spacing and add visual breaks between content sections, making your stories more readable and visually appealing.

What are Spacers and Dividers?

Spacers create invisible vertical space between elements in your story. They help establish proper spacing and visual hierarchy without adding visible content.

Dividers are visible horizontal lines that separate content sections. They provide clear visual breaks and help organize your information into distinct sections.

Important to note: spacers are only visible in the editor to help you design your layout. They won't appear in your published story, but their spacing effects will be maintained.

Adding Spacers and Dividers

To add these elements to your story:

  1. Navigate to the element menu on the right side of the editor

  2. Look for the Add a spacer/divider section

  3. Choose from the available options

Using Dividers

Dividers offer more customization options than spacers. After adding a divider to your slide, you can modify several properties:
