Storydoc Slides Library Overview

Learn how to use the Slides Library to save, organize, and reuse slides across your Storydoc stories.

Written by Jack

The Slides Library is your central hub for storing and reusing slides across all your Storydoc stories. Whether you want to save a cover slide you use repeatedly, browse layout options, or pull slides from an existing story, the Slides Library has everything in one place.

How to Access the Slides Library

From the Storydoc dashboard, click Slides in the left-hand navigation under the Libraries section. This opens the Slides Library, where you'll find four tabs: Saved Slides, Layouts, Storydoc's Templates, and Import from Stories.

Saved Slides: My Slides and Team Slides

The Saved Slides tab is where you'll find slides you've personally saved (My Slides) and slides saved by your team (Team Slides). This is perfect for slides you reuse often — like covers, about us pages, or pricing tables.

Both My Slides and Team Slides support folders to help you stay organized. You can also access any recently deleted slides from this view.

When you click into Team Slides, you'll see all slides shared across your organization, organized into folders. In the example below, folders are grouped by department — such as Sales & Marketing, Customer Success, Management, and HR.

Layouts: Browse Slide Structures

The Layouts tab contains minimalist slide structures organized by layout type. You can browse by category — such as Side By Side, Array, Narrator, Timeline, Tabs, Carousel, and Full Screen — or view the most popular and recently used layouts at the top.

When you click on a layout category like Timeline, you'll see all available variations (vertical, horizontal, path, with icons or images). Simply select the slides you want and click Create Story at the bottom to add them to a new story.

You can also hover over any layout slide to reveal the Add with AI option. This lets you provide a prompt so AI will automatically generate the content using that layout structure.

Storydoc's Templates: Ready-Made Slide Content

The Storydoc's Templates tab offers a library of pre-built slides organized by use case. Categories include Cover, Welcome Message, Agenda, About Us, Company In Numbers, Customers, Testimonials, Pricing, and many more.

Browse the full list of categories on the left side panel and click any category to filter the slide previews. Select the slides you need and click Create Story to build a new story from them.

Import from Stories: Reuse Slides from Existing Decks

The Import from Stories tab lets you pull slides directly from any story in your account. Browse your folders and stories on the left, then select the story you want to import from.

Once you open a story, all its slides are displayed. Select the individual slides you want to reuse, then click Create Story at the bottom (or Add all slides to bring in the full deck).

Accessing the Slides Library from Within the Editor

You don't have to leave the editor to access your Slides Library. Click the dropdown arrow next to the + New slide button at the top of the slide panel to reveal the same four library options: My Slides, Team Slides, Layouts, and Templates.

Any slides you've saved will appear immediately under My Slides, making it easy to insert reusable slides without leaving your current story.
