1. Check your spam or promotions folder
Storydoc emails can sometimes land in spam or the promotions tab, especially activation or billing notifications.
Action: Search your inbox for @storydoc.com and mark any messages as Not Spam.
2. Verify your email address
Your account must be verified before you can receive notifications.
If you haven’t received a verification email:
Check your inbox and spam folders.
If it’s missing, request a new activation link from Storydoc Support or click Resend verification email in your account settings.
3. You may have been automatically unsubscribed
Some email systems automatically unsubscribe users to prevent delivery issues.
This can happen for various reasons, such as bounced emails, firewall restrictions, or security filters blocking automated messages.
Action:
Contact Storydoc Support to check and reactivate your email notifications.
You can also manually resubscribe at the bottom of any Storydoc email.
4. Microsoft 365 Safe Links may be blocking emails
If your organization uses Microsoft 365, its Safe Links feature may be automatically unsubscribing or blocking Storydoc emails.
This happens when Safe Links rewrites Storydoc URLs and triggers automated unsubscribe events.
To fix this, ask your IT team to whitelist our link domain so Microsoft no longer rewrites or filters these links.
Add this domain to the Microsoft Safe Links allow list:
uXXXXXXX.ct.sendgrid.net (The exact subdomain may vary)
Once added, Storydoc emails (like password resets, invites, and notifications) will start arriving normally.
If your IT team needs help, share Microsoft’s official documentation:
Safe Links allow-listing guide (Microsoft Docs)
After the change, retry the action (for example, resend your password reset or invite) to confirm the email is delivered.
5. Check comment notification settings
If you’re not getting notifications about comments on a story:
Open the Story Settings for that specific story.
Make sure comment notifications are enabled.
You’ll only receive updates for stories where you’ve opted in to receive notifications.
6. Confirm your account email
If you’ve changed your login email or use a different sign-in method (such as Google), make sure the email listed in your Storydoc account settings matches the inbox you’re checking.
7. Check your company’s email filters
If you’re using a work email, your company’s firewall or spam filter might block automated messages.
Ask your IT team to whitelist storydoc.com, paddle.com, and sendgrid.net to ensure all system emails are delivered.
8. Still not receiving notifications?
If you’ve checked all the above and still don’t receive Storydoc emails, contact Storydoc Support with your account email and specify which notifications are missing (activation, comments, analytics, or billing).
Our team can review your email status and help restore notifications.
